Clinical Biochemistry - Immunosuppressive Drug Monitoring (IDM)

The IDM service supports prescribed immunosuppressive therapy of adult and paediatric liver patients with sensitive measurement of Tacrolimus, Ciclosporin, Mycophenolic acid, Sirolimus and Everolimus using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Interpretative advice to aid optimal clinical management of patients is also provided.

In addition, the antiviral drug Ribavirin can be measured in plasma from patients undergoing treatment for Hepatitis C infection.

The IDM service has a throughput of about 36800 test/year.
