test-icon HBV DNA Quantitative

Purpose of Test: The HBV DNA assay is an in vitro nucleic acid amplification test for the quantitation of Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) DNA in human plasma and serum. The primary use of the test is as an aid in the management of patients with chronic HBV infection undergoing anti-viral therapy. The assay can be used to measure HBV DNA levels at baseline and during treatment to aid in assessing response to treatment. Results must be interpreted within the context of relevant clinical and laboratory findings.
Method: The Roche COBAS AmpliPrep/COBAS TaqMan HBV Test for the automated isolation, amplification and detection of HBV DNA
Minimum Sample Requirements: 1.5mLs EDTA plasma preferred or serum.
Limit of Detection (LOD)/RANGE OF QUANTITATION: Lower Limit of Quantitation (LLOQ) 20 IU/mL;range of quantitation <2.00E1 to >1.70E8 IU/mL
