test-icon HBV Genotype

Purpose of Test: The HBV Genotyping Test is intended for use as an aid in the management and treatment of patients infected with hepatitis B virus. The assay utilizes nucleic acid amplification and direct sequencing for the determination of HBV genotypes A-H in human serum or plasma.
Method: The HBV Genotyping Test is an in vitro nucleic acid amplification and direct sequencing test.
Minimum Sample Requirements: 1.5mLs EDTA plasma preferred or serum
Limit of Detection (LOD)/RANGE OF QUANTITATION: LOD 200 IU/mL. It is recommended that only samples with a VL >/= 200 IU/mL be referred for testing; samples with a lower VL may be sent but amplification cannot be guaranteed.
