test-icon HCV RNA Quantitative

Purpose of Test: The HCV RNA assay is an in vitro nucleic acid amplification test for the quantitation of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) RNA genotypes 1 to 6 in human EDTA plasma or serum. The test is intended as an aid in the diagnosis of current HCV infection and in the in the management of patients with chronic HCV in conjunction with clinical and laboratory markers of infection. The test can be used to assess viral response to antiviral treatment (response guided therapy) as measured by changes of HCV RNA levels in serum or EDTA plasma.
Method: The Roche COBAS AmpliPrep/COBAS TaqMan HCV Test for the automated isolation, amplification and detection of HCV RNA
Minimum Sample Requirements: 1.5mLs EDTA plasma preferred or serum
Limit of Detection (LOD)/RANGE OF QUANTITATION: Lower Limit of Quantitation (LLOQ) 15IU/mL; range of quantitation <1.50E1 IU/mL to >1.00E8 IU/mL
